Project Management, Construction & MEP: frequently asked questions

When should security and safety consultants join a construction project?
At the design stage, before drawings are frozen. Security, safety and MEP systems that are designed in from the start cost less and perform better than measures retrofitted after handover. We acted as security consultants for the construction of Advantage Place, a major commercial building in Accra.
What is MEP benchmarking?
A review of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing designs and installations against the standards that apply, so that fire, life-safety and security provisions are compliant and coordinated with the building services. You receive an MEP benchmarking and compliance report.
Do you manage the installation contractors?
Yes. We project-manage implementation from design through installation and commissioning, with a project management plan and schedule, and hand over commissioned, standards-compliant systems.
