Safety Consultants in Ghana (HSE)
A safety consultant gives an organisation independent, expert advice on preventing injury, fire and loss at work: auditing premises and procedures, closing gaps against Ghanaian law, and training staff. S.G. Technologies is an Accra-based security and safety consultancy, operating since 2008, that handles health and safety alongside security under one accountable partner.

Definition
HSE consultant: An independent adviser on health, safety and environment who assesses workplace hazards, checks compliance with the law and the standards an organisation has committed to, and sets out prioritised corrective actions. Unlike an equipment supplier, the consultant does not profit from what the report recommends.
What does a safety consultant do?
S.G. Technologies' safety engagements cover five areas. Workplace safety audits check premises, equipment and procedures against the law and your own policies. Fire and life safety covers fire risk assessment, escape routes, detection and alarm, and preparation for the GNFS fire certificate. MEP compliance benchmarking checks fire, electrical and life-safety installations site by site. Contractor and construction safety covers permits to work, work at height and hot work. Training covers fire wardens, evacuation drills and health and safety awareness. Each engagement produces a prioritised corrective-action plan rather than a list of observations.
Which laws does a safety consultant check you against in Ghana?
Several apply at once. The Factories, Offices and Shops Act, 1970 (Act 328) sets workplace conditions for most commercial premises. The Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651) places a general duty on employers to provide a safe workplace. The Ghana National Fire Service Act, 1997 (Act 537) and the Fire Precaution (Premises) Regulations, 2003 (LI 1724) drive fire certification. Sector rules add to these, such as LI 2258 for petroleum-sector contractors. Standards such as ISO 45001 are not law in Ghana, but insurers, head offices and courts use them to judge whether your arrangements were reasonable. See the guide to security and safety compliance in Ghana.
Why use one consultant for safety and security?
Because the two collide on the same doors, corridors and procedures. A locked escape door is a security win and a fire-safety failure. A security modification can fail a GNFS inspection, and an evacuation plan that ignores the guard force will not work on the day. S.G. Technologies puts safety and security hazards on one risk register, so neither is fixed at the other's expense. For Enterprise Insurance, that meant safety and compliance consultancy, integrated security and safety systems and MEP benchmarking across 52 locations in Ghana. S.G. Technologies was also security and safety consultant for Glico's head office building.
How much does a safety consultant cost in Ghana?
It depends on the number of sites, their size and hazard profile, and the deliverables, so a single office differs from a factory or a branch network. S.G. Technologies scopes each engagement and gives a fixed written fee before work begins, usually within one business day of a briefing. Request a quote through the assessment intake form.
